1. Our Timeline

Company profile

  • 1929 – Foundry of non-ferrous metals was founded by Oldřich Kolář  in Velim.
  • 1938 – Company has thirty employees, casting machining workshop, modern molding hall, three-furnace melting plant and , drying room.
  • 1939 – The Dark Ages of 2nd World War and company is under forced state administration.
  • 1945 – Return of the owner Oldrich Kolar to the impoverished company and its gradual renewal. The brand of the company KOV emerges as Kolář Oldřich Velim.
  • 1948 – Company is expropriated. The machining of centrifuges, unparalleled power washers, kitchen machines, amplifiers, soldering machines, grinders, etc. were canceled. Modern machine tools were removed. The artefacts of high values ​​have ended to cast in the foundry (from the sculptors Myslbek, Štursa, Duška, Beneš, etc.).
  • 1991 – Foundry has been restituted by Bohuslav Kolář son of the company’s founder. The full production of the non-ferrous metal foundries is restored and the production of superstructures for trucks is estabilished under new mark Bohuslav Kolar – KOV Velim.
  • May 1991 – Bohuslav Kolar – KOV Velim show a its first flatbed with AL side panels on the chassis Avia with cabin unique cabin modification – AVIA KOVLUX.
  • 1992 – Expanding business activity abroad and negotiating the exclusive representation of the Truma gas producer in the Czech Republic.
  • 1996 – Arrangement of the exclusive representation of the manufacturer of Dethleffs and Movera and Dometic in the Czech Republic.
  • 1998 – First Year of Test 7 Brave with category of cars up to 7.5 tons of total weight. Participants of Avia, Nissan, Renault, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, DAF and Volvo with identical KOV Velim superstructure.
  • 2000 – Establishing of KOV Velim s.r.o. – metal machining. 
  • 2004 – The last seventh edition of the Test 7 Brave with the N1G pick-up category.
  • 2005 – Implementation of the management system according to ČSN EN ISO 9001: 2001 and ČSN EN ISO 14001: 2005 standards.
  • 2010 – KOV Velim s.r.o. took over all business activities joined with Detheleffs, Movera, Dometic.
  • 2015 – Original company Bohuslav Kolar – KOV Velim has been transfered into KOV Karoserie Velim s.r.o.

Company policy according to ISO 9001 and 14001

KOV Karoserie Velim s.r.o. is mainly engaged in the production of trucks, trucks, vans and cars, and the production of castings from non-ferrous metals. The organization’s good name is supported by a long-standing work on building an organization based on honest and serious dealing with customers.
     Quality management (QMS) and environmental systems (EMS) form an integrated organization management system. The management of the organization is committed to continuously improving the effectiveness of the integrated management system, notably through the set objectives, targets, programs and control mechanisms.

Quality Management Area:

  • Meeting the requirements and wishes of our customers is the core objective of the organization; customer satisfaction always comes first.
  • Services and work to customers are provided in the highest quality; customers meet with all-round willingness and help from the organization’s staff.
  • The basic rules of the organization’s employees are a positive attitude, decent behavior and outplacement, high professionalism and professional level, reliability and reliability.

Environmental Management System Area:

  • The organization undertakes to continuously plan to improve its environmental profile while maintaining and developing its business activities.
  • Maintaining the conditions of a healthy environment obliges the organization to meet all relevant legal requirements and other requirements the organization is subject to and which relate to its environmental aspects.
  • The organization prevents the causes of potential environmental damage and gradually seeks to focus on suppliers who are implementing the EMS principles or are already in place and who have solved the recycling or disposal process.
  • The organization communicates openly and intimately with the public and provides interested parties with true information about the environmental impacts of their activities.
  • The tool to continuously improve the efficiency of the environmental management system is above all identifying, reviewing and assessing the severity of all environmental aspects, setting objectives, target values ​​and EMS programs and a defined system of control mechanisms.

The subject of the project is to carry out type tests of vehicles, which the applicant has not yet placed on the market. Without these tests, the applicant could not have the vehicles homologated and could not therefore realize their production and sales.

The project is co-funded by the European Union.
